Carbon Wheels

I am looking to upgrade my wheels on my tri bike. Are the carbon wheels that much better?I was thinking to spend about US$1000 (front and rear).
Can anyone recommend a good set.

Deep section carbon rims are certainly the finest all around wheels you can buy. How much of a difference they make depends on you/your abilities and the distances you are competing in. The faster and the longer you ride, the more of a difference they will make, but just about anyone can realize some benefit. Keep in mind that it's typically the aerodynamics of the wheel that will make the greatest difference vs. the small differences in the weight of the wheels of differenct companies (unless you are doing extended climbing...on the range of 20+min climbs). This can be helpful when deciding on what to buy because the heavy products are always cheaper.
