running help

I'm getting back into running. I'm trying to train for the Virginia Beach 1/2 marathon the only problem is that I'm in the Army and trying to make time and not burn out to quick from overtraining. I like doing distance runs and cycling so far. If they're is any advice it would be much appreciated.
Thanks,

I train best when I make a written training plan thant culminates in a race. Train up, then taper. It keeps me focused. If you're worried about burn out from running alone, mix iit up with cycling. HTH
