I would say don't bother wearing the HRM in the pool. You can't really check your watch in the middle of a lap. Rather, at the end of a set or somewhere in the middle of a distance, take 15 seconds to check it the old fashioned way. Find your pulse in your neck and count the beats for 10 seconds multiply by 6, or 15 seconds multiply by 4, push off and away you go.

Thanks for the reply. First, Id like to wear it in the pool because then after i can upload the info. to my computer and know what level Ive been training at. Ive also heard that counting then multipling is very inaccurate. ive tried wearing a tank top i wear during tris under my wetsuit but id rather not wear it all the time swimming.

Anyone else out ther have any ideas??

My suggestion is to get the heart rate monitoring that does not require the strap. Wearing the strap in the pool is highly innaccurate due to the signal being interrupted in the water. Not that you want to pay another $300 to buy a new watch. Besides that, I can not help you.

The best I can tell you is if your HRM is made for the pool and it still will not stay in place, get yourself a tri-suit, then you can wear the strap underneath the suit and the water will not rip it off your chest.

Try wearing a light, tight beach top like the surfers do. It works for me.
