Plantar Fasciitis

Greetings,

Has anyone ever heard of gettiing PF and having pain in a location other than right in front of the heel? I have a foot injury that I think is a stress fracture but the doc I saw today says it's PF. We did an X-ray and I'll get those results early next week. In all of the research I've done and from my first bout of PF the pain is located just in front of the heel. The pain I'm experiencing is up in the front of of my foot just behind the toes :(. It looks like I won't be running for a while which throws things off for my first planned triathlon on April 30th.

Any news on your foot? What did the x-ray show? Btw- I would suggest a sports doctor that deal with such injuries for athletes and can better prescribe a rehab plan.

daphne: Thanks for asking. I received a letter from the doctor earlier this week. The X-ray is negative and he thinks it's a case of PF. I was talking with my chiropractor and he described Morton's Neuroma which is a condition where the nerve between the 3rd and 4th toes becomes inflamed. I am able to walk and ride and swim just fine, but running is out for now :(. I have an appt with physical therpy April 8th. The last time I had a case of PF there's where I went for treatment. I'll post an update after my visit on the 8th.

Hey zack good luck i experience some pain behind my toes which seems like its on the ball of my foot// my own prognosis is the jams and breaks that i've done to my big toes when i was younger in my basketball days; any previous injuries that could haunt you? make sure you see a P T person and let them know you want to run they may be able to show you a taping proceedure that may ease the pain good luck rhino

rhino52: The only problem I've ever had with my feet has been PF and I've only had one case of it (assuming I don't have it now). Both times though the problem has been with my left foot. I'm going to Jeff Galloway's running school up in Atlanta tomorrow. I'm looking forward to learning some great tips to keep me running injury free in the future.
