Ironman-how to build up?

Hey dudes, doing my first Ironman next year 6 March 2004.

Started training now.

What would be your maxmum ride before ironman?
Any other important info I need to know?

Prior to this, I have been involved in sprints/olympic distance tri's

Cheers

I just came back from Lake Placid where my cousin participated it was the best experience i had to see all these great people achieve this race was amazing all i did was cry so touching, it also gave me a push to start working out again being that i gained weight i stopped working out i will start again. I am a female and seeing all the woman do this was something else, by the way my cousin was amazing, he came in in the 700's out of 1800 it was GREAT. we were with him all the way, it was pouring rain we changed 3 times but stood by him, wonderful, good luck to you. Sharing resources?

Hey Dyer,

I assume I will be seeing you in New Zealand on the 6th?? ;)

I am also doing my first Iman and have begun to assemble a
selection of resources from the web and a coach.

It would be great to share them and the motivation!

Ironman rides

I like to get in at least 3 80-100mi rides in before starting to taper. I have done it before with a max of 70 mi. being my max but I wouldn't recomend that.
