| Welcome to the club! I hope you enjoy Triathlon-type training as it can become very addictive.
For the bike, you need to go to a bike shop and actually try out the bikes for yourself alot of the time, but the main thing is for the bike to fit you, the top tube of the bike must at least be 2 inches below your crotch area as this prevents impact type injuries should any unfortunate happen.
Another thing is when you go on the actual bike itself try pedalling, your knees should still have a slight bend at the pedal's lowest point.
That's pretty much all I can say, as for aero bars, handle types etc. I guess that's up to you as what is comfortable for me might not apply to you. I do my training on a Ricardo Road Bike with a Shimano Gear/Shifter set. Good luck!
