Ironman training

I am thinking about doing and ironman next year and was wondering if there are any websites that have training plans that I could look at to get an idea as to what I am in for. I will be doing my second Half IM in August and want to jump up to the next step. Also would it be a good idea to get a coach. I am looking just to finish and not be hospitalized afterward. Any help would be great. Thanks.

Moab,
Good luck in your Ironman quest. If you can do a half, you can do a full. It takes very little additional training if your only goal is to complete. There is a great free training program on the web called "13 weeks to a 13 hour ironman". If you google it, you'll be able to find it.

If you want to do more than complete, I would recommend a coach. My favorite is Tara Norton ([Only registered and activated users can see links. ]. Tara can take you to and through the next level.

As for sites... When I started doing Ironmans, I got more useful information from the Triweek archives than all the others put together. Most of the forums are loaded with people who are full of themselves and not helpful at all.

If there's anything I can answer, please feel free to ask.

We used the training plan from [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] for IM Brazil 2006 and IM Switzerland 2007. It's free! You can look at it to get an idea on what it will take training wise. Other sites have similar plans.

There are other sites that do offer training plans for a price. The usually come with forum where you can ask question as you go but it's really not a coach.

If you want a coach, you need to figure out what your goal is because the cost might be high.
