Eating to much Food ?

so i'm trying to lose another 10 L.B.s but whenever i go for a long run 3 being short 6 being long .. i tend to be ridiculusly hungry afterwards .. and eat a lot ... is this normal ... and how can i control my appetite and still get what i need to function for the rest of the day.

EAting afterwards

I too suffer from hunger after excersise. I think it is pretty natural. The best choice if you are trying to drop pounds is to choose healthy options. It is actually recomended to eat immediately after a workout (within 30min.). You should eat something that is high in protein and carbs (4:1 ratio is best).

Personally I use a supplement, but that is not necessary. I sometimes switch out to a milkshake of some manner. milk, banana, apple sauce, yogurt and strawberries is my personal favourite. You can experiment as you wish.

There is a reason your body is hungry, and you need to feed it. How you feed it will decide whether you lose or gain weight, not if you do or not.

I'm know there is a lot of scientific data out there on this topic.

hope this helps
Syd

Eating immediately after exercising is VERY important...to quench your hunger you could try any recover food like endurox or accelerate or any other high protein content food as psycosyd says...this is because you need to repair muscle tissue and depending on the person, you have between 45 minutes and 2 hours right after working out before your muscle becomes insuline resistant to let the nervous system absorb protein. This is the reason why you are very hungry right after working out.

Control Appetite

My friend drinking moderate amounts of caffeine throughout the day can help, but overall, too much caffeine will be counterproductive. Caffeine is an appetite suppressant but its effects are very temporary and can often lead to more hunger when it wears off, so it is most effective to drink small amounts of caffeine (such as green tea) throughout the day. This is also the way to allow caffeine to most positively influence your mental focus, concentration, and mood. Avoid drinking large amounts of caffeeine all at once.
