| This is typically a result of heavier sweating, rain or other liquid contact. Never use saliva to lubricate as this tends to compound the problem. I use Brave Soldier cream, Vaseline or Body Glide before every run over 6 miles. There are no rules on using these products to prevent blisters and chafing while racing. As a matter of fact, most Marathons and 70.3+ Triathlons have Vaseline at the aid stations. A note with Vaseline though, it will absolutely destroy rubber and neoprene products so if you plan on wearing spandex with rubber leg grippers, use one of the others. Speaking of spandex, I run in Tri shorts for all my longer stuff (13+) specifically to avoid this issue. Another trick is to lube your feet whether you normally blister or not. If you get caught in a shower, decide to run under a hose or just have a sweaty run, you risk blisters on the puppies. Good luck!
