First brick of the year...

Feels good to be getting ready for the years first race. I'm tapering on my marathon training and ramping up the tri-training. Been swimming twice a week recently with water temps in the mid 80's.
Completed a 24 mile bike ride, then ran a 4 miler at 34:20.

First race of the season in Ft. Lauderdale, FL on 3/25/07 (sprint distance)

...and, I got a new tri bike (Valdora PHX with HED tri spoke front and disc rear)

Anyone else getting in gear yet?

Allways in Gear

Unfortunately up here in Canada it is a bit later start for us!

Do have a early season half in April, and racing doesn't start till may.

Got this crazy 100miler spinervals disc. Looks like this sunday I will be doing a 51/2 hr ride on the trainer. Should be interesting!

Cheers
Syd

I laid off most of Nov, Dec and Jan even though the weather here has been perfect. Just a little burned out. I still have an excellent base and my running is still close to Iron peak. I ran a 15.5 mile race 2 Sat's ago and then ran 12 the next day with no prob. My swimming is totally off I'm sure so planning to re-inject myself in the next week (or so). Cycling is exactly where it was tis time last year. I know this becaude I did a time trial in exactly the same time as I did it last year and finished where I did last year (12/35). I will do the local 70.3 course (56) on Sunday and will be cycle racing every other weekend through Sep. IM KY is the third week in Aug so will be keeing the edge off until May when I'll start the spped work for that.

Wishing a great season & 2007 to all

Coming from Maine, still haven't had my bike on the roads but can't wait to do it. I bought a new bike the end of last year and haven't gotten to ride it off the trainer. Last 3 days have been around 0 deg but suppose to warm up to almost 50 by Sunday so keeping my fingers crossed!

My bricks lately go from bike on trainer to full winter running gear and out the door. That's a tough transition to master.

Bring on the tri-season!

winter brick

I can totally relate. Just did 3 hours on the trainer, and it took me about 5min. to get dressed to run! That is how long I am planning on being in transition for at IM! Nice day though. Sunny and about 0. (You know its been a cold winter when zero is OK!)

Cheers

If you guys have any vacation time, the weather in Islamorada today is 82 with clear skies and a light breeze.

The first sprint tri of this season is in Ft. lauderdale on 3/25/07.

Cheers

Sounds like you are ready to go. Here in Illinios we finally got a break in the weather, sunny and 49*. I was really warm on the run today, but I got cold on my first outside bike ride of the year and cut it short. I have a new ride, too. It was nice to get out on it.

My new bike is a Quintana Roo - Seduza
I too am signed up for the Madison IM, it will be my first.

Seduza

Those QR's are nice. I just picked up a 2006 Tequilo. Pisses me off that they are now firesaleing the Seduza's for less than the Tequilo, but what can you do!

Cheers
