New Shoes

After my last race in August last year I vowed that I would not take another running stride in my old shoes, since then I have honored that vow and my feet thank me every day (picture a very tiny quiet voice :)) My very giving wife has steped up once again in my defence and purchased my new running shoes, Mizuno Wave Alchemy 6's, what a great shoe for me, it feels like I'm running on clouds and the fit is amazing. This from the woman that also got me the new bike last year so I could look the part of a real racer and would be riding more than repairing, man do I love her!
The only bad part about getting new shoes this time of year is the weather here in Colorado is nasty, and I won't subject my new skids to ice and snow cause there just too nice right now, however I will be puting in the miles very soon (50 deg. or higher would be nice) I have three races set for this year and can't wait to get some outdoor training in.
Until later, keep on training.
Spike.

Good to see you back Spike! Long time no post. If I lived in CO, I'd probably be to cold to post too :) Our season never lets up of course but I laid W_A_Y off this winter. Interestingly enough, my run is still pretty much spot on. Bike is off but I plan to Road Race this season so that should get me kicked off nicely. My swim is 25% though. Lunch time pool sessions are back in fashion effective yesterday. My season looks like:
3/4 Sprint
4/1 Sprint
5/6 70.3
6/17 Sprint
7/4 Tripple Mini
8/26 140.6
9/2 Sprint
9/23 Sprint
11/4 Oly
I'll try to find more local races to squeeze in if I can squeek out the time.

Good luck in your 2007 race season. Give your new puppies the sockless treatment and they'll be good to your commando feet! :)

Thanks Scott, I'll try the comando route and see what my feet like.
I assume the 140.6 in Aug. is in Florida, same as last year.
As of now I have three races set up, we shall see how the year shapes up, maybe more races later on.
Spike.

Nope. Skiping the GFT this year. Last years race was b_r_u_t_a_l! Almost a 30% DNF rate. Doing the inaugral Ironman KY race. My son wants to do a father/son IM so this is it. Best of all, flying to Scotland 2 days later, dropping my daughter off for school, then flying on to Italy to bike the vinyards. I'm SOOOO excited!
