Are there any websites that comprehensively list triathlon events?

Does anybody know of a website that tracks triathlons across the country and posts them??

I would be interested just so I can start looking at setting my triathlon schedule for next year...

There are several sites but I can recommend altavistasports.com, trifind.com and sommersports.com.

All those listed are good! But, also search for local tri's in your area on your regional USAT website.

Half Ironman

I am planning on doing my first half ironman in 2007. Any suggestions on races that are well organized and where the bike protion is not too hilly. Preferably close to Illinois or in the states.

Thank you,
Cecilia

cecy, sounds like no one knows of races in that area. I'm a world away and have no idea. If you're willing to travel a little, consider the Disney Half in Orlando, FL. I suggest that because there are so many great flight/hotel/car packages into Orlando. Good luck!

I live in Indiana and Muncie has a great HIM in July. Its the oldest official HIM distance in the world. Go to muncieendurathlon.com

Have you checked out [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] It's a visual triathlon finder powered by Google Maps that plots triathlon races of all types on a map.

central indiana has the muncie endurathon. very nice swim, a flat and extreamly fast bike, but a brutal run due to the heat (the heat index was 105 this year).it was my first 1/2 back in 2005, and i think it is a great, well run race.

good luck
chris

Chris,
Muncie 2005 was my first Half IM too! And yes, that race was brutally hot on the run! Steamy too because of the rain on the bike portion! Are you doing 2007?

We should start populating the calendar here. If you are doing a triathlon you should put it on the calendar and then people could add their name, etc. Then we could all see triathlons, etc. that group members are doing and sign up.

heather,

i do plan to do muncie in 07. did you race at mideast championships this year? any plans for ironman. louisville is just a couple of short hours away from carmel! although im not too thrilled with the date(8/26/07). i think it may be too hot. also the ohio is one dirty river.

later
